The 2027 universe
The one who opens the paths
Watching over this 15th edition's poster is Eleguá (Elegguá), the orisha of crossroads in Afro-Cuban Regla de Ocha. Messenger of the gods, he is greeted first at every ceremony, because he is the one who opens “or closes” the paths. What better guardian for a line-up that is still secret?
- The keyHe holds the keys to every door and every destiny.
- Red and blackHis colours: life and death, beginning and end.
- The roosterA traditional offering, symbol of awakening and vigilance.
- Cowrie shellsSacred divination shells that adorn his representations.
“Abre camino”: may the paths of FIC 2027 open.
The festival
Salsa is more than a dance
It is the heir to a history, a people and an exceptionally rich heritage. The FIC connects today's salsa with its three founding roots.
01Son Cubano
Cuba's traditional popular music, widely regarded as the main ancestor of salsa.
02Cuban Rumba
A major artistic expression of the Cuban people, inscribed by UNESCO on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
03Afro-Cuban traditions
Inherited from African cultures, they shaped the rhythms, movements and identity of Cuban dance.

Dance, heritage & transmission
Dance as a cultural language
Workshops, danced lectures and educational shows: every session combines dance, music and storytelling to place each practice in its historical context.
- Folklore classes with live percussionists, just like in Cuba
- More than 15 dance masters and 50 guest musicians
- Columbia contest, 4 Before Parties and DJ Battle

The founder's vision
“Not just to promote salsa, but to help pass on the culture that gave birth to it.”
Yoann Henry discovered salsa in 2009. His trips to Cuba turned a passion into a mission: the first events were born in 2011 and grew into the Festival International Cubano, today a true bridge between Cuba and Europe.
